Here is the 4th event of ASMI. The founding team of Kogi Group of Corporation visits UCLA Anderson to give us speech.

In this speech, Mike Prasad, the Brand Director and New Media Consultant, gives an overview of Kogi, explains its approach in devloping the brand. He also addresses rational behind adopting social media for one of the most traditional industry and gives insight how they maximized the synergy with social media to grow Kogi’s unique business. (e.g. Twitter tip: making sure what you tweet has value for your customer)

Throughout the Q&A, Chef Roy explains scaling his creative vision of spreading Korean culture by making it accessible to Western palates, which led to inventing phenomenal urban hip culture!

Jason Feffer, CEO and Founder of Sodahead

Jason Feffer is CEO and Founder of SodaHead (www.sodahead.com), an Encino-based startup in the social answers space. SodaHead is funded by Mohr Davidow Ventures and the Tech Coast Angels and other angels, including Ron Conway. Notably, Feffer was one of the original members of the team at MySpace, and most recently VP of Operations at MySpace.

In this speech, Jaosn explains how to make users stay active in online social community, shares lessons learned about bridging the gap between engineers and non-engineers, and gives insights about entrepreneurial mistakes.

Brandon Mills, Cofounder and VP of Product Management at SocialVibe

Brandon Mills is a cofounder and Vice President of Product Management of SocialVibe, the first online advertising platform enabling word of mouth brand advertising within/across social networks and other social media properties. He leads a cross-functional team in defining, managing and executing on product strategy across all of SocialVibe’s consumer, advertiser and operational/analytics product initiatives.

In this speech, Brandon gives a good overview of social media trends, explains different types of social media per motivation and needs, and shows how to monetize each social media platform.

Prior to SocialVibe, Brandon was a Senior Business Analyst at a boutique management consulting firm, focusing on business strategy and M&A due diligence in media, health care, software, consulting services and energy sectors. He also helped establish the firms online media practice group. Brandon earned a BS degree in Structural and Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Management Science and a professional certificate in Finance from the University of California at San Diego.

David Min, Principal at Steamboat Ventures

David Min is a Principal at Steamboat Ventures and has been with the company since its founding in 2000. David has over 16 years of experience in media and entertainment and technology.

In this speech, David gives an overview of Steamboat Ventures, a venture capital affiliate of the Walt Disney Company, explains their approach in new media investment, and gives insight about the synergy with media entertainment conglomerate based on their portfolio. [audio link]

Prior to Steamboat, David worked for over 5 years in various capacities in corporate strategic planning at The Walt Disney Company. Earlier in his career, David worked as a producer and screenwriter intelevision and motion pictures for Warner Brothers and as a CreativeExecutive in motion picture development for Imagine Entertainment. David received a BS in Biology and a BA in Telecommunications fromIndiana University, and an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Business.
